I’ve been with the charity since 2010 working as a paramedic – I enjoy this role because I work alongside experienced paramedics and doctors delivering intensive care treatment in the pre-hospital setting. I’m also the Head of Operations, meaning I have the challenging role of ensuring clinical and operational side of our organisation runs efficiently.
I’m one of the charity’s longest serving members of staff, having joined in 2008. As well as being a critical care paramedic, I am also the airbase manager at Coventry which means I have the challenge of managing the day-to-day running of Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and the Children’s Air Ambulance.
I’ve been an air ambulance pilot since 2011 and am now the senior line pilot for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. My role involves training new pilots and crew. I love being able to land in challenging situations, having previously been a freelance helicopter pilot specialising in motorsport and filming.
I’ve been a pilot for 13 years and joined the team in May 2014, having spent the last 8 years flying VIPs throughout the UK for the aviation arm of Harrods. I’m enjoying my new role as part of a tight-knit team of professionals providing an essential service.
I am chief pilot for our aviation provider, Sloane Helicopters, and consider this to be the best job I’ve ever had in aviation. I could quite happily fly air ambulance helicopters until I retire. I love working closely with the medical crews and doing something that makes the job feel worthwhile.
