Derbyshire supporters raise £7,911 for DLRAA
On Monday 22nd June, Andrew and Karen Wint from Oakfield Farm donated £7,911.36 to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Andrew and Karen Wint and Chloe Morton presented Richard Fletcher and Keith Murfin, Derbyshire community representatives for DLRAA, with the cheque at Oakfield Farm during a riding school training session. The donation was made after an event on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June.
The very quiet village of Stanley Common become a bustling hive of activity as people flocked to join Andrew and Karen Wint from Oakfield Farm as they once again hosted a range of events and stalls as part of the Open Farm Sunday initiative. The days offered many attractions, activities and culinary delights including the licensed bar from Nutbrook Brewery, cake and craft stalls, sheep shearing, bouncy castle, pony rides, farm tours and live rock bands which were, Peashooter, Black Fish, Mr Wolf, The Modest and many more; there was something for just about everyone who visited the farm.
Chloe Morton, aged 14, was one of the many children that raised money for us; it is inspiring to see such commitment and pride from Chloe, she raised £204.00 from selling sweets at school, family and friends. She also joined her sister Lilly, aged 10, to raise sponsorship for a horse ride. Their tremendous efforts raised a further £89.00.
Richard said: “I was delighted to be presented with the cheque from Andrew and Karen Wint and Chloe Morton, as it will help us save four lives, DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no government funding. Therefore support from people such as Andrew and Karen Wint and Chloe Morton and everyone who sorted this event really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.”
