Hearing Help donate £115

On Wednesday 20th May Hearing Help Ripley donated £115.32 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

Alan Gray presented Richard Fletcher, Derbyshire community representative for DLRAA, with the money at the Hearing Help Centre in Marehay, Ripley. The donation was made following a talk presented by Richard on the air ambulance service. The members decided to have a bucket collection after the talk to raise some money.

Hearing Help has been in existence for around 20 years. Although they are based in Ripley, they cover the whole of the Amber Valley region and can offer their many services to anyone living in this area. They are the only organisation of this type in Amber Valley and their extended services include social groups, lip reading, bereavement support, a befriending scheme and advice on equipment to help hearing impaired people improve their lives. If you wish to come along to their monthly social meeting, it’s on the third Wednesday every month and starts about 11.45am and finishes by 2.30pm. They ask for a small donation towards costs.

Richard said: “I was delighted to be presented with the money from Hearing Help and their social club members. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no government funding. Support from people such as the Hearing Help Ripley really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.
