Supporters hold spook-tackular collection
On Wednesday 5th November 2014, John May donated £246.25 to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
John May presented Richard Fletcher, derbyshire community representative for DLRAA, with the money at their house in Belper. He decided they would support DLRAA in a very unique way. John decided to decorate his front garden for Halloween and asked passers-by to make a donation. This was the fourth year John has decided to raise money for us and he was very pleased at the generosity of the people of Belper.
Richard said: “I was delighted to be presented with the money by John. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no government funding. Support from people like John May really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying.”
DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 6,000 rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700.
