Thank You Brandish and All41Print

Coombe Social Club, Coventry, played host for a race night raising funds for the Children’s Air Ambulance. The unique service is the UK’s first dedicated air ambulance for transporting vulnerable young children to the specialist help they need or, if the child is too vulnerable to move, bringing the specialists to them. It receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the public.

The night was sponsored by Brandish, the Vauxhall dealership who have recently moved into brand new facilities at Vantage Park (just off the A444) and, a small firm that can supply brochures, banners, leaflets and also embroidery work. As well as the fun of the race night, the participants were also given a brief overview of the Children’s Air Ambulance’s parent group, The Air Ambulance Service, as well as the service itself by a couple of volunteers from the service. A short video helped to complete the overview of the excellent work this service does.

At the end of an enjoyable evening the participants left, some richer, some poorer but knowing that they had helped raise nearly £530 to keep the helicopter flying bring hope to it’s vulnerable young passengers.

The event was kindly put on by volunteer Alan Jackson, who also volunteers once a week in the offices of the The Air Ambulance Service. Huge thanks to Alan for taking the time to run this vital fundraising activity for us, as well as to volunteers Nigel and Christine, and everyone else who attended and donated.
