Former patient meets Anita Dobson – and Cinderella

One of our former patients has enjoyed a very special start to the New Year – oh no he hasn’t! Oh yes he has! Jack Rowley, the subject of our Christmas appeal and a former patient of the Children’s Air Ambulance, has been to see the Cinderella pantomime at Aylesbury Theatre after being invited by Children’s Air Ambulance patron Anita Dobson.

Jack and his family, including older brother Charlie, travelled to Aylesbury to meet former Eastenders actress Anita and the rest of the Cinderella cast. After a brilliant performance, the brothers were delighted to meet the characters they’d just seen on stage.

Although Jack may still be a little too young to appreciate the performance, the family had a wonderful afternoon together.

Jack’s mum, Abi, said: “It was such a lovely start to the year. Charlie hasn’t stopped talking about it, and we have some great photos to add to Jack’s memory box too. The whole experience was fantastic, both the performance and meeting Anita with the cast after the show. It was an afternoon that we will never forget.”

The pantomime is hopefully the start of a much brighter year for the Rowley family, after an extremely tough 2014. In April, when Jack was just 4 weeks old, the Children’s Air Ambulance flew him from the Isle of Wight to Southampton for emergency heart surgery. To read more about his story, click here.

With your support, we’ll be proud to see more little patients like these grow up.
