Stars come out for chocolate book launch

A host of celebrities joined chocolatier Paul A Young as he launched his new recipe book in aid of the Children’s Air Ambulance.

Around 200 people attended the party for the official launch of the charity book at One Marylebone in London last night.

Among the guests were Strictly Come Dancing star Lesley Joseph, actress Emma Thompson, who contributed a recipe to the book, Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes, former Great British Bake Off winners John Whaite and Edd Kimber and chef Rosemary Shrager.

Other guests included actresses Linda Robson and Tanya Franks, restaurant critic and broadcaster Jay Rayner and Bake Off finalist Kimberley Wilson.

Paul signed copies of the book Sensational Chocolate which features his own recipes as well as contributions from chefs including Nigella Lawson and Marcus Wareing and chocolate lovers such as Emma Thompson and Brian Blessed.

The evening included a live demo by Paul and a ‘Generation Game’ style challenge featuring Rosemary, John and Edd as well as a performance by singer Anna Pancaldi.

Proceeds from sales of the book will raise funds for the national Children’s Air Ambulance for which Paul is an ambassador.

The service, which relies on donations and receives no government funding, carries out emergency transfers of seriously ill children by helicopter.

The book costs £20. To buy a copy click here or pop into one of Paul A Young’s shops in London or a Children’s Air Ambulance shop.
